Body confidence isn’t just a problem for those who struggle with being overweight. Even skinny and just-right-sized people are plagued with insecurities about their body. They don’t feel good in their clothes. They don’t feel good in their skin.
Others avoid anything that gets them out of breath (stairs, for example), and they believe that genetically, they just don’t have the genes to lose weight and get fit.
Or, they believe that getting out of breath comes with age. And since they’re not overweight, they’re doing just fine.
And still, others believe that being at risk for high blood pressure and high cholesterol is just part of the mix—age, genetics, destiny!
A lot of this is a result of negative thinking—excuses, insecurities and outright lies—ingrained by something, yourself, your parents, your friends, mixed messages…
But some of these mind-body issues are the results of little to no physical activity!
In a Kent State study on body image, the results showed that all participants experienced less body image dissatisfaction by exercising three times a week, minimally.
It’s amazing at how staying active affects mentality!
And did you know that I’ve met many active 60-something men and women who have more life and vitality than most men and women in their 20s!
In fact, do you remember what it was like to be 6 years old and you thought you ran as fast as lightening?
With the wind in your face and the ground propelling you forward, you felt as if you could take off, straight to the moon!
At 6 anything is possible, right?
You don’t have to be 6 to feel that good again.
You don’t have to be 6 to have hope again. Or to enjoy life again!

I have experience in various martial arts training, including MMA, futbol (soccer), handball (another European thing), weight lifting, sprinting, navy training, flexibility and getting my body to function just the way I like it. Why? Because I love it!
For me, fitness truly is a lifestyle. It goes beyond the textbook and the recertification exams… I know real-life fitness.
